Slow Cooker Beef in Red Wine
If you are looking for a real comforting plate of food this slow cooker beef in red wine may be the one for you. It is delicious served with mash potato or even crispy roast potatoes.
- 500g braising steak
- 4 large carrots
- 1 large onion
- 300g mushrooms
- 2 cups of red wine
- 2 beef stock cubes
- 4 cups of water
- seasoned flour
Cover the beef in seasoned flour.
Fry off the beef until browned, then place into the slow cooker.
In the frying pan put your chopped up mushroom, carrots and onions and quickly fry off. Then place on top of the meat.
In the same frying pan pour the red wine and boil to reduce to around half the amount. Add the stock cubes and boiling water and just simmer for a few minutes.
Pour over the beef and leave to cook on low for 5 hours.
While this is cooking your house will smell wonderful.
