Easy sausage plait recipe
If you are looking for something for a change for tea thats easy, this sausage plait is very tasty. It is also something different to have in your lunch box or even for a buffet you are planning. It doesn’t cost the earth to make and can also make a nice family meal.
I did cheat a little on mine and used ready made puff pastry to save a little time.
1 sheet puff pastry
6 medium sausages skinned.
1/2 small packet of stuffing
1 medium finely chopped eating apple
1 small finely chopped onion
Preheat oven to 170C / gas mark 3.
Make the stuffing by adding boiling water and cool.
Mix in the sausage meat, chopped apple, chopped onion and salt/pepper. Put to onside.
Roll out the sheet of puff pastry into an oblong.
Place the mixture down the center of the pastry.
Cut slits down each side of the pastry about 3/4 inch wide, fold in the top then place over alternate strips from one side to the other, fold the end to seal.
Brush with egg wash and bake for 40 minutes.
Enjoy with salad or potato chips 🙂
Have a lovely day x
