Festive piped biscuits

These festive piped biscuits are very quick to make and ideal for the holiday season, you can decorate with cherries or green jelly cake decorations look pretty too.  They also last for a few days packed away in an air tight container, so having to make them before hand is not a problem.  I do like to use real butter in these biscuits as opposed to margarine as it gives a real buttery taste.


250g  soft butter

50g icing sugar

250g plain flour

50g cornflour

cherries in syrup

Pre heat your oven to 190C / Gas mark 5

Line a baking tray with grease proof paper.

Soften the butter in a mixing bowl with a wooden spoon and add the icing sugar a little at a time.

Once mixed gradually add the sieved flour and cornflour and mix.

Spoon the dough into a piping bag using a nozzel of your choice, I used a star one.

Pipe 12 large rosettes or 16 if you want them smaller.

Piped biscuits

Place half a cherry in the center of each rosette and bake for 15 minute until golden.

Leave to cool on the tray for a few minute before transferring to a wire rack.
