Chocolate brownie with a twist

I have tried a lot of chocolate brownie recipes but never really found one that I would keep using time and time again.  Adding walnuts to the brownie mix makes all the difference and gives it that delicious crunch.  This recipe has become a family favorite over the last few years and is super easy to make.

Delicious chocolate brownie Ingredients:

175g margarine

350g granulated sugar

100g plain flour

3 medium eggs

1 level teaspoon of baking powder

75g cocoa

175g walnuts

Preheat your oven to 180″C ( gas mark 4 )

Line the bottom of a 12 x 9 inch tin with greaseproof paper.

Put the margarine into a small pan and gently melt.  Once melted pour into a large mixing bowl then add the sugar and mix.

Add the beaten eggs to the mixture slowly, once added beat them in well.

Sieve the flour, baking powder and cocoa into the mixture and mix well.

Chop the walnuts into smaller pieces then add to the mixture.

Pour the mixture into the tin and smooth with a spoon so that it is even all over.

Pop in the oven for about 40 minutes.

The brownie should have formed a crust on the top.

Leave the brownies in the tin to cool for a few minutes, then cut into desired sized piece and cool on a wire rack.
